These off-set hinges offer an increase in the width of the door enrty area of about one inch. This may not seem like much, but in numberous situtations it is just enough addtional clearence to allow a walker or wheelchair unobstructed entry into the bathroom.

An additional 1/2" clearance can be accomplished with the removal of the door stop trim installed on the door jam.

Notice at the end of the slide show, It can clearly be seen how the door is off set to the side and completely out of the way. The door dissappears from the door opening.

This may be one of the option you may want to consider verse the alternative of replacing the complete door unit and trim. A much more expensive choice.

These Off-set Hinges come in polished brass and duable construction. Some doors require three hinges to support the weight versus the normal interior doors which require only a pair of hinges.
